Health Fair Hosted by Public Health District

The Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is hosting a health fair next week on April 4th from 3 to 6 p.m. This will be the first fair held by the Health District since 2019 and will take place at its main campus located at 1700 Third Street in Wichita Falls, Texas. The timing of the event was planned to coincide with National Public Health Week, which runs from April 1st to 7th.

The theme of this year’s fair is “Super Heroes, Super Health” and is designed to appeal to both children and adults. City Public Information Officer Chris Horgen mentioned that there will be over 40 community partners present at the event to support the WFWCPHD motto: “A healthy community is a strong community.”

Attendees can look forward to more than 30 kid-friendly booths at the fair, with additional activities and partners still being added as the event approaches. Participants will have the opportunity to play games, participate in activities, have their blood pressure checked, take part in a scavenger hunt, give blood, try a car accident simulator, win door prizes, and more.

In addition, Wichita Falls Animal Services will be offering free pet adoptions and free microchipping at their location on 1207 Hatton Road throughout National Public Health Week. This collaborative effort aims to promote health and wellness within the community. Copyright 2024 KAUZ. All rights reserved.
