Zoo Atlanta Celebrates Learning, Science and Discovery with Educator Appreciation Day and Biomechanics Day

Honoring education, innovation, and exploration on Mar. 9

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Zoo Atlanta is hosting two special events that celebrate learning, science and discovery. The first event is Educator Appreciation Day, which highlights the role of Zoo Atlanta and its partners as leaders in education beyond the classroom.

Educator Appreciation Day offers free admission to educators and a $5 discount on general admission for up to four family members or guests. Educators can also take advantage of additional discounts around the Zoo and visit various booths to meet Zoo team members and learn more about educational programming and professional development opportunities. The booths will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with discounts valid only on March 9, 2024, and applicable to active teachers, local and out-of-state educators, informal educators, and administrative support staff. To redeem the discounts, educators must present a valid educator ID or relevant documentation along with a photo ID. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged on the Zoo Atlanta website.

The second event is Biomechanics Day, part of the 2024 Atlanta Science Festival. This event showcases Animals in Motion with the help of experts from various educational institutions. Guests of all ages can participate in live demonstrations highlighting human and non-human biomechanics and learn about real-world applications in Bioinspired Design.
