Weld County Leads the Way in Election Security with Innovative GHOSTmark Technology

New Voting Security Technology Piloted in Weld County

In 2023, Weld County took a major step in ensuring the security of its election process by implementing an innovative new technology. For the first time, ballots were printed on paper stock with GHOSTmark technology, as reported by The Greeley Tribune. This cutting-edge technology includes high resolution images that are only visible under special equipment.

As part of a pilot program, Weld County, with its 222,064 active registered voters, served as a test site for this unique security feature. The use of the special paper stock containing high resolution images added an extra layer of protection to the election process. With the successful implementation of this new technology, Weld County has paved the way for future use and further enhancement of election security measures.
