WABE: Black Family Expo to provide complimentary health screenings and additional services

The Black Family Wellness Expo, in honor of National Impact Day of Service, will be taking place on March 16 at Greenbriar Mall. This event will feature various health-based organizations offering health screenings, immunizations, resources, and wellness activities to the community.

During a recent episode of “Closer Look,” Dr. Nicole Martin Franks shared insights about the expo. Dr. Franks, who is a professor of Emergency Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and the interim chief quality officer at Emory Healthcare, emphasized the significance of health screenings and preventative care for Black families of all ages.

By providing access to screenings and resources, the expo aims to promote health and wellness within the Black community. This event serves as an opportunity to educate individuals on the importance of proactive healthcare measures and the benefits of early detection for various health conditions.

Attendees can expect to receive valuable information from healthcare professionals and engage in activities that promote overall well-being. The Black Family Wellness Expo strives to empower individuals to take charge of their health and make informed decisions to lead healthier lives.
