UT Health San Antonio’s ENGAGED Platform Simplifies Volunteering for Students, Faculty and Community Partners.

Get Involved with a Community Partner on the ENGAGED Platform as a Volunteer

At UT Health San Antonio, volunteering has become more accessible and convenient for students, faculty, staff and community partners with the launch of their community engagement platform, ENGAGED. This platform allows users to easily track their volunteer hours and provides access to all of the institution’s registered community partners.

With over 10,000 members already able to access the portal, finding a community partner that resonates with them is simple. For example, those interested in personal health may be drawn to Work Out Help Out (WOHO), a nonprofit organization that promotes volunteering, personal health and offers fun weekend events involving exercise, community service and healthy eating.

The ENGAGED platform records volunteer hours for free allowing the university to better fulfill its mission of community engagement. Individuals can visit the ENGAGED website and click “Community Partners” to view the list of organizations associated with UT Health San Antonio. From there they can select an organization to view upcoming events and volunteer opportunities before recording their volunteer hours through the platform.

It is encouraged for volunteers to wear a UT Health San Antonio T-shirt while volunteering as it shows pride in the institution. For further information about volunteering through the ENGAGED platform or how it works, individuals can contact ENGAGED project administrator Cindi Adcock at AdcockC@uthscsa.edu.
