Undergraduate Business Major Accepted for Fall 2025 Admission

The University of California, Davis, is set to launch a new business major in the fall of 2025, marking the culmination of a lengthy process to establish the degree program. Chancellor Gary S. May expressed excitement about the opportunities the new major will bring for students to engage with the business community and gain practical experience.

The initiative to create the business major began in 2021 with a working group consisting of faculty from various departments within the university. The Joint Working Group for the Creation of a Business Major collaborated extensively to develop a curriculum that incorporates math, statistics, and economics courses from different departments across campus. The new major received approval from the Davis Division of the Academic Senate this year.

Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Croughan highlighted the importance of this new major in response to the demand from students and industry for a business program at UC Davis. She emphasized the university’s commitment to providing students with a comprehensive educational experience that prepares them to become future leaders and innovators.

More information about the new major will be released in the upcoming months through a dedicated website and admissions materials in the fall, giving prospective students insights into the program’s offerings and structure. The collaborative efforts of faculty members and industry partners have set the stage for a successful launch of the business major at UC Davis.
