Violet LaClair, a nursing assistant at UW Health, recently reflected on her career journey during Women’s History Month. In her role, she focuses on providing exceptional care to patients, particularly those undergoing gender transition surgeries. LaClair emphasized the importance of empathy in patient care, ensuring that every individual feels comfortable and supported when under her care.

As a transgender individual herself, LaClair believes that she is able to establish instant connections with transgender and non-binary patients. Her sincerity and experience in this area led her to receive the prestigious Sunshine Award at UW Health for assisting a patient during a personal gender-specific test. This recognition highlights her dedication and commitment to inclusive care for all patients.
