The Race for Billionaire Supremacy: Bezos Reclaims Top Spot from Musk Amid Gender Disparities in Wealth

Jeff Bezos overtakes Elon Musk to become the richest person in the world

Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, has regained the title of the world’s richest man from Tesla founder Elon Musk. His current net worth is estimated at $200 billion, while Musk’s has fallen to $168 billion. This decline in Musk’s ranking can be attributed to the drop in Tesla’s stock price, which has fallen by more than 27% this year, while Amazon’s stock has increased by over 16%.

Challenging Bezos and Musk for the top spot are Bernard Arnault and Mark Zuckerberg. Arnault is the CEO of luxury goods company LVMH and his net worth is reportedly $197 billion, making him the only non-American businessman in the top 10 of Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. Zuckerberg is the founder of Facebook and his net worth is estimated at $179 billion.

Following closely behind these four individuals are Bill Gates, who founded Microsoft and is reportedly worth $150 billion, and Francoise Bettencourt Meyers, who ranks at No. 15 on the overall list but holds the title of richest woman in the world. This highlights a significant gender disparity among the world’s wealthiest individuals as Bettencourt Meyers is the only woman in the top 20 on this list.
