The CEO Build event hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County was a huge success this year. More than 40 business leaders from the Tampa Bay area came together to work on constructing two homes. James Nozar, founder and CEO of East+Main, served as the event chair, leading the efforts to build these homes.

Among the participants were Jerome Ryans, president and CEO of the Tampa Housing Authority, Damon Moorer, board chair of Habitat Hillsborough and CEO of TCM Bank, Scott Pittman from Ajax Paving, Jim Kirkpatrick from Republic Bank, Randy Hassen from McKibbon Hospitality, David Hendrix from GrayRobinson law firm, and Joseph Williams from Kimmins Contracting Corp. These business leaders not only volunteered their time for the build but also contributed funds to help underwrite construction materials for the homes.

The construction design prioritized long-term sustainability with a focus on energy and water efficiency. These homes are expected to be completed by the summer, with a celebration to dedicate and welcome the new homeowners. Overall, it was a successful collaboration of business leaders coming together to make a positive impact in their community through the construction of affordable housing for those in need.
