Successful Entrepreneur and Businessman: Slootman Steps Down as CEO of Snowflake, Affirms Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

The Silent Tech CEO who Surpassed Tim Cook in Wealth

Slootman, the tech executive who has recently stepped down as CEO of Snowflake, is a successful entrepreneur and businessman. He is wealthier than both Tim Cook and Satya Nadella and has made a name for himself in the tech industry through his leadership of three successful companies: Snowflake, ServiceNow, and Data Domain. Under his leadership, Snowflake achieved a highly successful public offering in 2020, raising $3.4 billion at a $33.3 billion valuation.

Slootman, originally from the Netherlands, immigrated to the US in his 20s and has garnered a reputation as a militant CEO who is part of Silicon Valley’s conservative wing. He has been associated with other high-profile tech figures such as Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, and Palmer Luckey. Despite previous controversial statements about diversity and political correctness, Slootman later apologized and affirmed Snowflake’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

While Slootman will remain as the chair of the board at Snowflake, he has been succeeded as CEO by Sridhar Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy, a former Google executive, joined Snowflake in May and has been leading the company’s artificial intelligence strategy. With Slootman’s successful track record and Ramaswamy’s expertise, Snowflake is poised for continued growth and success in the tech industry.
