Siouxland Community Health Center to Hold 13th Annual Dinner and Silent Auction

The Siouxland Community Health Center hosted its 13th Annual Dinner and Silent Auction Event on Saturday night with the theme “Tastes from Around the World, A Night of Cultural Cuisine.” The event showcased food from four different countries and included a live auction with prizes such as a meet and greet with All-Pro Kansas City running back, Christian Okoye.

Honorees for the event included Joann Gieselman and George Boykin, who received the Good Citizen of the Year award. Gieselman, Director of Growing Community Connections, expressed her excitement for the event, stating, “I’m looking forward to the company and just getting to talk to everybody and have this time together it’s just amazing. I really do believe that collaboration kind of builds collaboration so everybody talking at their tables and thinking of ideas and growing the community, I get excited about that.”

The silent auction was a popular aspect of the event, with multiple organizations providing items for bidding. Brendyn Richards, Director of Development and Advocacy, emphasized the direct impact the event has on the patients they serve, benefiting programs and services that help build a healthier Siouxland Community. Richards stated, “We do have a silent auction and it goes toward a lot of our different funds for our foundation. We have a lot of different funds that, they have nicer names but essentially it’s a transportation fund, medical funds, cribs for kids program, basically helping our patients that may be in need.”

KTIV’s morning anchor, Taylor Deckert, served as the emcee for the event. The event was a success with attendees coming together to support the Siouxland Community Health Center and its mission to provide quality healthcare services to the community.
