Shop Local: Medinaville Celebrates Small Business Saturday

Medina, Ohio will be participating in Small Business Saturday on November 25 to promote local businesses within the city. The event is part of a larger “Shop Small Movement” founded by American Express in 2010, which aims to help small businesses draw in more customers and thrive. It takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving and Black Friday at the height of the holiday shopping season.

On the 25th, Medina will celebrate Small Business Saturday starting at 11 am with a table set up in the Huntington Bank lobby located at 39 Public Square. The table will be filled with “Shop Small” handouts and information about Medina’s small business community. From noon to 2 pm, Santa will also be dropping by Wichert Insurance, located at 119 N. Court St.

According to a recent press release from Main Street Medina, over 90% of the business district store fronts in Medina are filled with local, independent retail shops, boutiques, restaurants and pubs and a wide range of services. This is just one example of why it’s so important for communities to support their local businesses.
