Shaquille Leonard Released by the Indianapolis Colts – NBC Sports

Linebacker Shaquille Leonard has been released from the Indianapolis Colts after six years with the team. The Colts owner, Jim Irsay, thanked Leonard for his contributions to the team and expressed gratitude for his time as a member of the organization. In response, Leonard posted a farewell message on social media expressing his love for the city of Indianapolis and its fans.

During his time with the Colts, Leonard had several notable achievements. He was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft and went on to win defensive rookie of the year. Additionally, he was named a first-team All-Pro in 2019. However, back injuries and decreased playing time ultimately led to his release from the team.

Despite this setback, Leonard remains grateful for the support he received from Colts fans and is excited to begin a new chapter in his career as a free agent. With new opportunities ahead, he will have the chance to sign a new contract with another team and continue to excel on the field.
