Saranac Lake Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Scheduled for December 1st

The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake are thrilled to announce that the annual Lighted Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting will return on December 1, 2023.

The event kicks off with a fire truck parade, where area fire departments will come together in the spirit of unity and collaboration. The parade route will take fire trucks from Broadway to Main Street, with a special guest – Santa Claus.

After the parade, the festivities continue with a tree lighting ceremony in Berkeley Green from 6:15 to 7:15 pm. Santa will light the tree while everyone is invited to join in a holiday sing-along with the Northern Lights Choir. Warm cookies and hot cocoa will be available next to the bonfire.

Children can visit Santa from 7:15 pm to 9:00 pm at the Saranac Lake Free Library. They can share their wish lists with Santa and capture the moment with a photo.

At 7:45 pm, a 40-foot tree donated by Moody Tree Farm will be lit in Riverside Park.

This event is made possible through the support and collaboration of several valued organizations, including the Women’s Civic Chamber, the Saranac Lake Free Library, Adirondack Health, and the Northern Lights Choir.

Area fire departments, businesses, and organizations interested in entering a vehicle into the parade are welcome to RSVP to Santa Parade Chair Douglas Peck at 518-891-2414 or westfirefighter17@hotmail.com by November 30th, 2023
