Sally Beauty, a leading destination for high-quality hair color and care, has teamed up with The Black Hair Experience, an organization dedicated to celebrating Black hair and culture, to launch the first “Rooted in Success” event series. Through this partnership, Sally Beauty is committed to fostering connections within the textured hair community.
The Rooted in Success event series will kick off with two pop-up events on Saturday, February 24 in Atlanta and Saturday, March 16 in Washington, DC. These events will provide an opportunity for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), entrepreneurs, Black- and female-founded beauty brands, and consumers to engage with each other and celebrate their shared passion for beauty.
Sally Beauty currently carries an extensive assortment of over 100 textured hair brands – over 50 of which are Black-owned or founded, including national brands like SheaMoisture, Kaleidoscope, Mielle Organics, and TPH by Taraji among others. The retailer also supports six Black-founded emerging brands from its small business focused Cultivate Accelerator Program.
As part of its commitment to building an ecosystem that fosters connections within the textured hair community, Sally Beauty is offering active HBCU-enrolled students in the US a special discount of 10% off both in-store and online purchases during this spring season. This offer is just one way that Sally Beauty is showcasing its support for the next generation of beauty leaders.
“We believe that beauty is a powerful form of self-expression,” said John Goss, president of Sally Beauty. “It’s our role to facilitate access beyond quality products by providing opportunities for influential industry leaders to engage with consumers and young entrepreneurs.” At Rooted in Success, Sally Beauty is showcasing founder-led stories from both emerging and established Black beauty leaders. The retailer is excited about this partnership through local events and continued support year-round.
