Purple-Gold World Series Kicks Off at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

The 2023 Purple-Gold World Series will mark the end of LSU’s six-week fall practice period this weekend. Both intrasquad games are open to the public and admission and parking are free. The gates to Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field will open 15 minutes prior to first pitch each day.

The Purple team will be led by captain Alex Milazzo, a senior catcher, while the Gold squad will be captained by graduate catcher Hayden Travinski. The first game is set for 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday, and the second game starts at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday.

The rosters for the two teams have been released, with standout players including Hayden Travinski and Nate Ackenhausen for the Gold squad, and Alex Milazzo and Mic Paul for the Purple team. The series promises to be a thrilling display of talent as LSU prepares for its upcoming season, which begins on February 16th when the Tigers host VMI in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
