According to a message from The Power of Industry (TVO) service in X, the repair work on the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant’s triple reactor is experiencing delays. This means that the repair, inspection, and testing work will take longer than initially anticipated.
The most recent estimate suggests that the power production of the triple reactor will begin on Tuesday, November 21 at 6 p.m., which is a delay from TVO’s previous estimate of production starting on that same Tuesday at noon. Full production is now estimated to begin between Tuesday and Wednesday night.
An interruption in the plant’s electricity production occurred on Sunday evening due to a fault in the turbine plant. The cause of the failure was identified as a faulty temperature measurement of the generator’s cooling system. However, TVO has assured that this event did not impact nuclear safety.
