New Financial and Business Director Hired by Ozark School District

The Ozark school board recently voted to hire Robert Hedgecorth as the executive director of finance and business, a move aimed at freeing up the superintendent, Lori Wilson, from some of her duties. Wilson initially joined the district as the assistant superintendent of business and chief financial officer in 2022 and continued to oversee the budget even while serving as the interim superintendent for the 2023-24 academic year. However, the board has now officially selected her as the superintendent, removing the “interim” title.

Wilson will be succeeding Chris Bauman, who resigned as superintendent due to family health reasons. Regarding the hiring of Hedgecorth, Wilson praised his alignment with the district’s mission and vision of providing high-quality education while being an innovative district. Hedgecorth, who currently serves as the executive director of support services in the Smithville district, will begin his role overseeing the Ozark district budget, assisting in budget forecasting, and managing financial reports starting July 1.

In a news release, Hedgecorth expressed his excitement about collaborating with the Ozark team to maximize resources and propel students towards continued success. He began his career as a technology teacher in 2003 and has since held various positions, including technology director and support services director. Hedgecorth holds a master’s degree from Baker University, a specialist degree from Williams Woods University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate.
