The Spar Group has announced the appointment of Hans K. Reisch as the new CEO of Spar AG, effective immediately. Reisch, who is a grandson of Spar founder KR Hans F. Reisch, will work alongside three existing board members: Mag. Markus Kaser, Mag. Paul Klotz, and Mag. Marcus Wild to lead the company’s fortunes. The supervisory board of Spar Austria made this decision after the previous CEO, Mag. Fritz Poppmeier became necessary due to illness.
Reisch has spent his entire professional life within the company and has been a member of the board since 2001 and became deputy chairman in 2021. He had already been very successful in this role for a year before taking over as CEO. This step towards reorganization was taken after the previous CEO’s departure due to illness.
The departments were partially redistributed in March 2023 and remain unchanged under Reisch’s leadership. Dr Gerhard Drexel, Chairman of the Supervisory Board stated that “The entire Spar family regrets Mag’s departure due to illness.” He also thanked Mr Fritz Poppmeier for his decades of commitment and dedication to their company and wished him well on his recovery journey
