Missouri Senator Bill Eigel to Resume Work in Senate Following Health Scare • Missouri Independent

Recently, Missouri Senate Republican candidate Bill Eigel underwent surgery to remove a food lodged in his throat. According to campaign manager Sophia Shore, the incident occurred while Eigel was at home and required an emergency room visit to clear the blockage in his esophagus. Despite being absent from legislative duties for two days, Eigel is expected to return on Wednesday.

Following a successful procedure, Eigel returned home on Sunday and is currently recovering. Shore expressed her gratitude towards the doctors and nurses who provided him with care during his medical emergency. With eight other candidates vying for the Republican nomination for governor, including Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Eigel remains a formidable opponent in the race.

Elected to the Senate in 2016, Eigel has been known for his criticism of GOP leadership in the Republican majority chamber. He was a founding member of the conservative caucus and a leading figure in the Missouri Freedom Caucus. Despite missing some time due to his medical emergency, Shore expressed confidence that Eigel will be back to fighting against political establishment soon enough.
