Microsoft has recently launched a new Windows application that enables users to connect to a remote PC and access its functions on Apple devices with iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. This app also provides web browser access. Currently, users can connect to a Windows computer through Virtual Desktop but the technology giant continues to introduce new options for easier access to services.
The new Windows application unifies all of Microsoft’s cloud PC services into one app, allowing users to access a remote desktop with Windows as well as connect to other users’ computers. The app serves as a “gateway” to Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Microsoft Dev Box, Remote Desktop Services, and Remote PCs. Users can securely connect to Windows devices and applications.
The application features a customizable homepage where users can set their favorite services. Users with different Windows accounts can easily switch between them within the app. The app also includes support for multiple monitors, custom screen resolutions, and redirection of devices such as web cameras, audio hardware, and storage devices.
The app is currently available for Apple devices with macOS, iOS, and iPadOS and can also be accessed through web browsers. However, it is not yet available for Android devices. Microsoft hopes to offer users the ability to use Windows across different platforms and devices. This app is currently in preview so it may be subject to change in the future.
