Local Science Fair Awards Best in Show Winners; Three Projects Qualify for International Competition

In partnership with the Boulder Valley School District, the annual Corden Pharma Colorado Regional Science Fair recently announced its winners for both the junior and senior divisions. In the junior division, Tejas Raman from Boulder Country Day took home best in show for his project in the Earth and environmental science category. Other first place winners included students from Summit, Sacred Heart, Flagstaff Academy, and Boulder Country Day.

Meanwhile, in the senior division, Sophia Zhang and Claire Huang from Fairview High won best in show for their project in the chemistry category. Other first place winners came from Centaurus, Fairview, and Nederland. The top 37 projects will now advance to the Colorado Engineering and Science Fair in April at Fort Collins.

In addition to these local accolades, three senior projects have also qualified for the International Science and Engineering Fair in May at California State University-Los Angeles (CSULA). Students Zhang and Huang will be joined by Cao and Wang as they represent their region on a global stage.
