Local business faces a series of unfortunate events

Shawarmar Middle Eastern Cuisine is a small shop located near Main Street in Kansas City. The restaurant is currently facing challenges due to a recent accident in which an uninsured driver hit their sign and building on Christmas Eve. Despite these setbacks, owner Abeer Jari remains determined to keep her dream alive. She opened Shawarmar 6 years ago, bringing flavors from her hometown in Saudi Arabia to the local community.

Jari runs the business with her husband, who works in the kitchen in addition to his full-time engineering job. Due to the damage caused by the accident and ongoing construction in the area, the restaurant has lost business and had to cut back on employees. The broken sign creates the impression that the business is closed, significantly impacting their customer traffic.

Facing financial challenges, Jari’s husband started a GoFundMe to help cover the repair costs. However, Jari encourages people to support the business by trying their food and experiencing the flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine. She is passionate about continuing to provide quality food and service to the community and hopes to see the business thrive for many years to come.

Despite the current difficulties, Jari remains optimistic and determined to keep Shawarmar operating. She believes in the quality of their food and service and invites customers to visit the restaurant and experience the unique flavors they offer. The community’s support will play a crucial role in helping Shawarmar navigate these challenging times and continue serving delicious Middle Eastern dishes.
