An investigation has been launched by the Investigative Department following the arson of a synagogue in Yerevan. According to Gor Abrahamyan, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, an investigation is underway on suspicion of intentionally destroying or damaging property. The media reported that an unknown individual attempted to set fire to the doors of the Jewish synagogue in Yerevan on November 16. The defender of human rights in Armenia condemned any attack on places of worship as unacceptable and reprehensible, calling for proper assessment of any motives related to racial, national, ethnic, or religious hatred, intolerance or enmity within the investigation.
