Over the weekend, the MTU Kerry North Campus hosted a Family Science Week showcase event, attracting a variety of attendees from all ages. Among those captured in photos were Aliyah Bruse and Rebekah Landy, who were seen having a great time at the event. Ten-year-old Eoin McMillan was also photographed getting into the scientific spirit, while Daithi Nolan was another attendee pictured enjoying himself.
Keely Flaherty and Lily Walsh were seen with the Nutty Scientist, Robert Cooke, while TY student Muireann Hussey from Mercy Mounthawk in Tralee was captured testing the skin of Daithi Nolan at the event. Sisters August Culhane and Sheeryn Culhane were also present, as well as six-year-olds Keelan Wren, Aidan Nkomo, and Jayden Duma who were seen enjoying the VR experience.
The showcase event included a wide variety of activities such as VR experiences, scientific testing, robotics, weather forecasting, electric vehicle display, sustainable food making, zoology, book reading and children’s sustainable recycling workshop along with slime experiments. Organizers described it as a fantastic day of free entertainment that brought wonder to the eyes of both children and adults alike.
The showcase was just one of many events happening over the weekend at MTU’s North Campus in Tralee. The photo gallery above includes more snapshots from the event.
