Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel recently discussed the injury of running back De’Von Achane in a statement. Achane had been pushing to return to Sunday’s game against the Raiders after injuring his knee, but the team is still considering whether he will be able to play against the Jets this Friday. Despite being in his first game back from a stint on injured reserve and injuring the same knee that put him on the list initially, Achane had only one carry and one catch before leaving the game.
On Monday, McDaniel stated that Achane is seeking “extra feedback” about the injury and emphasized the team’s desire to ensure they aren’t putting the back at any undue risk by allowing him to return to the field. McDaniel pointed out that it is a little complicated because they have to factor in all these concerns. He noted that it is important not to put a player in a situation where their best performance isn’t up to their own standard. The team is still waiting for a decision regarding Achane’s availability for the upcoming game against the Jets.
