Iran Takes Home Two Wins in Busto Arsizio Boxing Qualifying Tournament

Iran’s Islamic Republic clinches two major victories

In the evening session of the First World Boxing Qualifying Tournament in Busto Arsizio, Italy, the Islamic Republic of Iran emerged victorious in two significant matches. The first of these was a 57 kg bout between Daniyol Shabakhsh of Iran and Yoel Finol of Venezuela. Despite Finol’s impressive professional record, including an Olympic silver medal at the 2016 Rio Games, Shabakhsh emerged triumphant with a score of 5-0.

The second thrilling match saw India’s Layksha Chahar and Iran’s Meysam Ghehslaghi go toe to toe in a men’s 80-kg bout. Judges were split on their scorecards heading into the third round, but Ghehslaghi ultimately secured victory with a knockout blow delivered just 20 seconds before the end of the match.

In contrast to these close matches, USA’s Robby Gonzales showed remarkable resilience by getting up from the canvas to secure a win in his opening bout. This display of determination and skill highlights the intense competition and incredible performances showcased at the tournament. As more exciting matches unfolded, it became clear that this tournament was setting the stage for even greater action to come.
