The Giants made a major addition to their free-agent acquisition list by signing outfielder Jorge Soler to a three-year contract. This was reported by Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle on Monday night.
At 31 years old, Soler brings much-needed power to the Giants’ lineup. He had a great 2023 season with the Miami Marlins, hitting 36 home runs and posting a .250/.341/.512 slash line. In addition, he was the World Series MVP in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves, helping them win the championship with a .300 batting average, three home runs, and six RBIs.
The Giants have taken a step in the right direction by adding Soler to their roster. This reported deal is a major step forward for San Francisco as they look to improve their offensive capabilities. With his power and talent, Soler will be a valuable asset to the Giants’ lineup and help them compete for the championship in 2024.
