From Top Contenders to Number One: The Journey of Palm Cove’s Unique Path to Glory in Conde Nast Traveler’s World’s Best Beaches Ranking

World’s best beach named Aussie beach

Located in far north Queensland, Palm Cove is facing the approach of Cyclone Jasper, set to make landfall near Cairns. Despite the wild weather and dangerous animals that can be found in the area, Palm Cove has recently been named the world’s best beach. This title was given by the prestigious magazine Conde Nast Traveller, beating out other popular beaches in destinations like Hawaii, Greece, and Fiji.

Palm Cove boasts a two-kilometer stretch of pristine white sands lined with palm trees, making it a picturesque and idyllic location for beach lovers. The area is known for its bustling restaurants and luxurious hotels, although they were recently affected by Tropical Cyclone Jasper. Despite these challenges, Mayor Terry James believes that Palm Cova’s natural beauty, including its magnificent melaleucas, is what sets it apart and makes it deserving of its title.

The recognition as the world’s number one beach has only validated what locals have long known about Palm Cova, according to Mayor James. Additionally, other Australian beaches, such as Wategos Beach, Mona Vale Beach, and Noosa, were also recognized on the list by Conde Nast Traveller. This acknowledgment highlights the diverse and stunning beaches that can be found across Australia, showcasing the country’s natural beauty to a global audience.

While there were other top contenders like Honopu Beach in Hawaii, Ora Beach in Indonesia
