From Chicago to Buffalo: Mitchell Trubisky’s Journey Continues with New Contract

Mitch Trubisky returns to Buffalo

Mitchell Trubisky, a former second overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, has agreed to return to the Buffalo Bills after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Trubisky spent the last two seasons with the Steelers, appearing in seven games with five starts in 2022 and five games with two starts in 2023. Prior to his time with the Steelers, he was the Chicago Bears’ first-round pick after they traded up to select him at No. 2 in the draft.

Trubisky will now serve as backup quarterback Josh Allen’s understudy once again in Buffalo, providing depth and experience to the position. Despite being released by the Steelers just days before free agency began, Trubisky was able to secure a new contract within hours of its start date.

This move by Trubisky is expected to give the Bills added depth at quarterback and bring back a familiar face to their roster. As he continues his NFL career, Trubisky will look to contribute any way he can to help the Bills succeed in upcoming season.
