NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSNewsTexas.com) — The Texas Rangers won the World Series and Jesse Gonzales and his wife Angela couldn’t wait to celebrate. Their home on Wisdom Way is now adorned with lights, featuring scenes from the 2023 World Series instead of the typical reindeer and Santa’s sleigh.
“The reaction has been phenomenal,” said Gonzales. “We’ve had people come by every single day, and I walk out here and talk to a lot of big Ranger fans.”
Gonzales and his wife are known for their love of the Texas Rangers, having gone on their first date to a game and getting engaged at another. So, when the team won the World Series, it was only fitting that they combined their usual enormous holiday light show with the highlight of every Texan’s year.
The entire show is choreographed to Post Malone’s song, “Congratulations,” featuring 10,000 lights, a giant LED screen showing iconic moments from the series, and jerseys on skeletons—an homage to Rangers past, present and future. The final pitch of the World Series is projected on the big screen, followed by a highlight reel of the series.
Gonzales hopes that more people will stop by to enjoy the display before they put up their real Christmas decorations on Dec. 1. “I want them to experience the joy of reliving that day again,” he said. “Reliving that moment brings such happiness.”
