Evaluating Lima’s Readiness for 2027 Pan American Games: A Tour of World-Class Venues and Government Commitment

Authorities from Panam Sports Visit Lima and Meet with President Boluarte

During their first day in Lima, the Panam Sports Inspection Commission toured various sports facilities and met with government officials to assess the city’s readiness to host the 2027 Pan American Games. The commission, comprised of Panam Sports Executive Committee members and the Director of Games, began their visit at VIDENA, where they saw venues such as the velodrome, athletics track, and Aquatic Center.

In the afternoon, they had a meeting with President Dina Boluarte at the Government Palace to discuss their findings. President Boluarte expressed optimism about Lima’s potential to host the games and emphasized the city’s trained team, world-class facilities, and government support for organizing the event. The Peruvian Olympic Committee President, Manyari, also emphasized their commitment to supporting sports in Lima and ensuring its success as a candidate for hosting the games.

The inspection commission then visited Villa María del Triunfo headquarters to conclude their first day of visits. Their itinerary for the next few days included visits to other sports centers in Lima such as Punta Rocas High Performance Center and Pan American Village. They also planned to travel to Asuncion for a two-day visit to assess Asuncion as a potential host city for the 2027 Pan American Games.
