VA Finger Lakes Health Care Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Residency

The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is dedicated to providing exceptional mental health care for Veterans, including those in rural and underserved areas. To achieve this goal, the system has launched a residency program for mental health nurse practitioners. The program focuses on enhancing clinical experience in managing mental health conditions affecting the Veteran population.

The mission of the residency program is to prepare mental health Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to deliver high-quality care for Veterans. Through the program, APRNs will develop their diagnostic, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy skills, as well as expertise in interprofessional collaboration and Veteran-centric care.
