Elon Musk: No Donations for 2022 Presidential Campaigns Amid Controversies Surrounding Donald Trump and Joe Biden

Donation to Trump’s Campaign Not Likely from Him

Elon Musk has recently announced that he will not be making any donations to either Donald Trump or Joe Biden for their presidential campaigns. This news comes after reports that Trump had a meeting with Musk in Florida while seeking financial support for his campaign. Despite Musk’s significant financial status as a billionaire, he has never been a major contributor to American politics, which makes his decision not to support either candidate less surprising.

President Biden’s campaign currently has a cash advantage over Trump’s, with the former president relying on political action committees to fund his legal fees. Musk has openly criticized Biden after revealing that he voted for him in the 2020 election. However, when asked if this meant he would support Trump in the election, Musk remained ambiguous in his response.

In light of Nikki Haley suspending her campaign on Wednesday, both major parties have effectively chosen their nominees for the upcoming election. Looking ahead to 2024, there is speculation about third-party candidates entering the race, including vaccine skeptic Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Musk has previously hosted an audio chat on Twitter with Kennedy, who was a Democratic presidential candidate at the time.

It is important to note that an earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Nikki Haley suspended her campaign on Tuesday, when in fact it was on Wednesday.
