The Lions have decided to bring back Donovan Peoples-Jones for the 2024 season after trading for him as a half-year rental. Peoples-Jones signed a new deal with the Lions today, as reported by multiple sources. Last year, he was traded from the Browns to the Lions just before the trade deadline. In the eight games he played with the Lions, Peoples-Jones caught five passes for 58 yards and also contributed on special teams with 30 snaps.

This upcoming season, the Lions are hoping that Peoples-Jones can become more involved in the passing game and potentially take on a role as a return man. Being a Detroit native who played college football at Michigan, Peoples-Jones has familiarity with the area. He was originally drafted by the Browns in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see how the Lions utilize his skills and potential in the upcoming season.
