Darious Williams to meet with Giants on Sunday

Cornerback Darious Williams is in search of a new team and his journey is taking him to New Jersey. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Williams is scheduled to visit with the Giants on Sunday. This marks his first reported visit since being released by the Jaguars earlier in the week. The Jaguars let go of Williams, along with other veterans, to make adjustments to their salary cap before the new league year began. Williams had an impressive season with Jacksonville, recording 53 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 19 passes defensed.

The Giants currently have Adoree’ Jackson and Darnay Holmes, both of whom are set to become free agents this week. Bringing in Williams for a visit could be an indication that the Giants are preparing for the departure of one or both of these players. Williams would bring valuable experience and talent to the Giants’ defense, making him an appealing option as they look to solidify their roster for the upcoming season. His visit to New Jersey will be an important step in determining where he will continue his NFL career.
