Breaking and Entering: 12 Restaurant Burglaries on Near North Side of Chicago Prompt Police Warning

NBC Chicago Seeks Suspects in Spate of Burglaries at North Side Restaurants

The Chicago police have issued a warning to businesses on the Near North Side after a recent string of 12 restaurant burglaries in the area. According to a news release from Chicago police, in each burglary one to three men, as well as a woman, pried open the patio doors to the restaurants and stole cash registers and money.

The burglaries occurred from Jan. 9 through Feb. 6, with nearly all of them taking place in the morning. Four burglaries occurred in the first block of West Kinzie Street, while two burglaries occurred in each of three other blocks – the 600 block of Orleans Street, 100 block of West Kinzie Street, and 100 block of West Illinois Street. Additionally, there was one burglary each in the 800 block of North State Street and the 300 block of West Hubbard Street.

Officials believe that the men are between 30 to 35 years old, standing at around 5-feet-6-inches to 5-feet-8-inches tall and weighing between 160 to 170 pounds. The woman is believed to be between 20 to
