Breaking News: Baltimore Orioles Set to Promote Highly-Touted Prospect Jackson Holliday

The Baltimore Orioles have decided to call up top-ranked prospect Jackson Holliday from their Triple-A affiliate after a strong start to the season. Holliday, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, has been making a name for himself with his impressive performance.

After progressing through the Orioles’ minor-league clubs last season, Holliday had a standout spring training this year before returning to the Norfolk Tides to start the season. In his first 10 games with the Tides, he posted impressive numbers, hitting .333/.482/.595 and recording nine RBI and two home runs.

Orioles general manager Mike Elias expressed excitement about Holliday’s future, highlighting his potential to be among the best players in the league. The 20-year-old, who is the son of former MLB outfielder Matt Holliday, was drafted as a shortstop but has been playing second base in Norfolk.

Holliday is expected to join the Orioles in Boston on Wednesday as they continue their series against the Red Sox. With a 6-4 record, the Orioles are off to a solid start this season after winning more than 100 games last year for the first time in decades.
