William Byron earns victory at Martinsville Speedway

Hendrick Motorsports continued its success at Martinsville Speedway by winning for the 29th time at the Virginia short track. William Byron claimed victory in Sunday’s Cup race after leading 88 laps, with Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, and Ryan Blaney also securing top-five finishes.

The race saw five cautions, including two for the stage ends, which totaled 15 laps. The final caution forced the race into overtime, with only 14 cars finishing on the lead lap. Unfortunately, two drivers, David Starr and John Hunter Nemechek, did not finish the race.

After eight races in the Cup season, two organizations have stood out with their dominance. Hendrick Motorsports has four wins, with Byron earning three and Larson one. Joe Gibbs Racing also has three wins, coming from Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell. Trackhouse Racing is the only other Cup team to score a win this season, with Daniel Suarez victorious at Atlanta.
