Bills’ QB Josh Allen and WR Khalil Shakir Extend Lead to 29-6

In the second half, the Bills offense relied on field goals, but they have since managed to find the end zone in the third quarter. With 6:29 left in the third quarter, Josh Allen connected with Khalil Shakir for his third touchdown pass of the day, extending the Bills’ lead to 29-6 against the Jets. On the play, Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner attempted to intercept the ball but missed, allowing Shakir to break through for an 81-yard touchdown, marking the longest play from scrimmage in the NFL season so far.

Prior to the long touchdown pass, Allen also scored a touchdown on the Bills’ first drive of the second half, connecting with running back Ty Johnson. In his first game with interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady calling the plays, Allen has completed 19-of-29 passes for 273 yards.

Following their punt on their first possession of the third quarter, it appears that they are struggling to find their offensive prowess needed to make a comeback in this game.
