Biden aims to negotiate a minimum six-week ceasefire in Gaza

President Biden of the United States is currently making an effort to negotiate a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with a duration of at least six weeks. During this time, hostages will be released. Biden made these remarks during a joint press conference with King Abdullahin of Jordan, which took place at the White House. The president emphasized the importance of protecting civilians in Rafah, a town located near the Egyptian border that houses up to one million Palestinians. In response to this ceasefire initiative, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel has ordered his country’s armed forces to prepare for a ground attack on Rafah.
