Attacker killed, minor companion seriously injured.

In Houston, Texas, a woman entered a significant evangelical temple with a long coat and opened fire at the entrance. Two off-duty officers carrying out security duties shot her down before she was killed. The woman also made statements about having a bomb during the shooting.

The Lakewood Church, located in Houston, is known for belonging to Joel Osteen, a famous pastor from Texas. The church is significant to many people in the city and beyond, making the incident all the more tragic.

According to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner, the woman entered the temple with a long weapon and a backpack shortly before 2 in the afternoon, accompanied by a child about four or five years old. The child was hit by bullets and was transported to a hospital in critical condition while a third male subject, aged 26 to 28, was injured in the hip. Despite this, an anti-explosive brigade was called to seize the place.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but police have stated that it was an “isolated incident” and that there are no security problems at Lakewood Church. Governor Greg Abbott has expressed condolences for those impacted by the tragic shooting and offered full support of Texas to bring the criminal to justice. He emphasized the sacredness of places of worship and called for prayers for the Lakewood Church community as they grieve this loss.
