The funds awarded are designed to support various STEM-related activities such as a macro propagation project, drone building program, hydroponics project, community garden and the purchase of equipment and supplies for earth science, marine biology, life science and forensic science classes. This grant program aims to provide Hawai’i public schools with additional tools and equipment to enhance science education and encourage students to consider pursuing a career in the sciences in the future.

The Bayer Fund grant program was established in 2005 with this goal in mind. It is available twice a year and is open to public schools on the islands of Oʻahu, Maui and Molokaʻi where Bayer employees reside and work.
