Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and Reid Health come to contract agreement

Reid Health and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield announced that they had reached a contract agreement after six months of negotiations. The agreement was reached just before the deadline on Monday. If an agreement had not been reached, customers covered by Anthem would have lost insurance access to the Reid Health network of medical providers.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield President, Beth Keyser, expressed pleasure in announcing the new multi-year agreement that ensures uninterrupted access to care for customers at all Reid Health facilities and physician offices. The contract aims to provide quality care without excessive cost increases for those covered by Anthem benefit plans. Keyser highlighted the importance of a value-based contract, tying reimbursement to quality benchmarks and improving health outcomes for members.

Reid Health’s President and CEO, Craig Kinyon, highlighted the commitment of both Anthem and Reid Health to investing in excellent rural healthcare through the agreement. He emphasized that the priority has always been to ensure that patients have access to the care they need. The community and patients were thanked for their patience and support during the negotiation process.

Patients covered by Anthem insurance were encouraged to keep their scheduled appointments and schedule new ones as needed. Those with questions were directed to visit reidhealthaccess.org or call the community helpline at 765-965-4250 for assistance.
