2024 Williams Outstanding Technology Service Award Nominations Now Accepting Applications

In 2001, Illinois State University established the Williams Outstanding Technology Service Award to recognize exceptional support for technology on behalf of students and faculty. This award is open to full-time administrative professional or civil service employees with at least four years of experience at Illinois State who have demonstrated outstanding service in a computer or technology support position.

The deadline for nominations is December 1 at 4:30 p.m., and applicants must submit a nominating letter and two additional letters of support. The winner of the award will be honored at the 2024 University Teaching & Learning Symposium on January 10.

The Williams Outstanding Technology Service Award was established to recognize individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the University in the area of technology and service. This award is in keeping with Dr. Williams’ commitment to building a “technology-friendly campus” in support of learning, teaching, research, and creative activities at Illinois State University.

Illinois State University seeks nominations for this prestigious award to recognize exceptional support for technology on behalf of students and faculty. Eligible candidates must be full-time administrative professional or civil service employees with at least four years of experience at Illinois State who have demonstrated outstanding service in a computer or technology support position.

Nominations are due by December 1st, along with a nominating letter and two additional letters of support from colleagues or other stakeholders who can attest to the candidate’s exceptional contributions.

The winner will be recognized during the annual University Teaching & Learning Symposium, which takes place on January 10th next year.

This award was established in 2001 by David B. and Kay O. Williams as a way to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the use of technology on campus. It reflects their commitment to creating an environment that supports learning, teaching, research, and creative activities through innovation and excellence in IT services.
